Lamella clarifiers or Tube Settlers

Lamella clarifiers or Tube Settlers
To remove TSS, color, algae, and other contaminants from surface water, a Lamella clarifier system should be used in conjunction with a pre-coagulation and flocculation system.
Compared to a traditional settler, this lamella settler will offer a big projected surface area in a little space. The flocculated water sludge enters the lamella pack system, thereafter the clear water moves upward and the sludge settles on the packs and moves downward under gravity before being periodically collected from the tank’s bottom.
Benefits of Lamella clarifiers
- Lamella clarifiers are better than other clarifying systems primarily because of their wide effective settling area, which is produced by the employment of inclined plates
- This enhances the clarifiers’ operating conditions in several ways.
- The unit requires only 65~80% of the usual sedimentation area, making it more compact. Therefore, a lamella clarifier system is chosen where site footprint limits are an issue.
- Because of the smaller necessary space, it is possible to locate and run the clarifiers inside, which mitigates some of the frequent issues with algae development, clogging from blowing debris accumulation, and odor control that arises when the machinery is outside.
- It is also possible to better regulate the operating temperature and pressure conditions when operating in an enclosed location. Because of its slanted plates, the clarifier can run at overflow rates two to four times higher than those of conventional clarifiers.
- Lamella clarifiers don’t require the use of chemicals and also have a straightforward design. As such, they can serve as a pre-treatment for sensitive membrane procedures.
Tube Settlers
Systems of Tube Settlers for Clarification. Because tube settlers and parallel plates shorten the vertical distance that a floc particle must settle before agglomerating to create larger particles, they boost the settling capacity of circular clarifiers and/or rectangular sedimentation basins.

Benefits of Tube Settlers
- The typical operating rate of clarifiers/basins with tube settlers is two to four times that of those without.
- Up to half of the coagulant dosage can be reduced while still allowing the influent turbidity of the treatment plant filters to be lower.
- Significant operating cost savings for both water and power result from less filter backwashing.
- The higher flow capabilities of tube settlers allow for smaller designs for new installations.
- Tube settlers can be added to existing water treatment plants to enhance flow.
- By boosting the settling capacity and sediment removal rate in settling tanks, tube settlers raise the permissible flow capacity.
A collection of angled plates or channels make up tube settlers and lamella clarifiers, which have a compact footprint but a big effective surface area. Lamella plate separator basins are consequently much smaller than traditional clarifier tanks.
PTC WaterTech is a leading Lamella clarifiers or Tube Settlers manufacturer in Pune, India. The sedimentation basins and oil separation units of State-owned water treatment plants, municipalities, and domestic and industrial water and wastewater treatment plants are successfully using lamella clarifiers and tube settler models. We take pride in being the industry leader in lamella production and sales, both domestically and abroad.
